150,000 net raised for the Foundation Cup

Under the honorary presidency of Maxime Ménard of Fiera Capital Canada and Global Private Banking, sponsored by BFL CANADA, the Foundation Cup, a field hockey game benefiting the Barry F. Lorenzetti Foundation and the Véro & Louis Foundation, took place on April 19, 2024 at the Bell Centre. The event raised a generous $150,000 thanks to the generosity of the Quebec business community and the sports and arts community, who responded in large numbers.

The funds raised will make a significant contribution to the philanthropic initiatives of the two foundations, whose missions address critical needs in our society, namely mental health care and long-term adapted housing for autistic adults.

Barry F. Lorenzetti's team took on Louis Morissette's in a friendly, electrifying duel where former NHL players, Olympians and cultural personalities shared the ice with passion and commitment.

Among the players who took part in this sporting event were Justin Morissette, Jean-Philippe Wauthier, Richard Sévigny, Sergio Momesso, Patrice Brisebois, Paul Byron, Francis Bouillon, Mathieu Dandenault, Pascal Dupuis, Alexandre Daigle, Pierre-Marc Bouchard, Stéphane Quintal, Bruno Gervais, Lucien Deblois, Jonathan Goldbloom, Caroline Ouellette, Julie Chu, Emmy Fecteau.

In this month of autism and for this exceptional event, the residents of the Véro & Louis Home in Varennes and their specialized educators came to the Bell Centre to support the team of Louis Morissette, co-founder of the Foundation bearing his name and that of his wife Véronique Cloutier. Outings and educational activities are an integral part of the innovative concept behind the Véro & Louis Homes. Educational programming at the Home, as well as outside in the community, enables residents to pursue their learning and develop their potential, with the utmost respect for each individual. All activities are planned and led by specialized educators, with the aim of developing their autonomy, skills and interests, as well as fostering their social integration.
