METRO DONATES $200,000 TO THE VÉRO & LOUIS FOUNDATION
- GROUPE MESSIER JOINS THE CAUSE -
MONTREAL, May 25, 2021 – On May 18, Metro presented the Véro & Louis Foundation with a cheque for $200,000 to support the upcoming opening of the very first Véro & Louis Home in Varennes. The donation was made in two components: funds to support the Foundation’s mission, and food items.
As the official grocery store of the Foundation, Metro will feed the Home’s residents and staff by filling their fridges each week with items from the Metro Plus Sabrevois in Boucherville. The amount raised for this initiative, which started March 5, 2020, is collected through the sale of Fresh2Go ready-to-eat meals across Quebec, where $1 for each individual meal sold and $2 for each value pack goes to the Foundation.
Groupe Messier also presented the Foundation with a $9,000 cheque on behalf of its customers from a fundraiser that ran from April 18 to May 1, 2021 in ten of their stores. The Messier family and brand recognize the incredible generosity of its customers and the efforts of its employees.
The objective of the Véro & Louis Foundation is to create homes adapted to the needs of adults aged 21 and up diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) so that they can flourish throughout their lifetimes.
